Process:
There wasn’t a whole lot to the process on this one, to be totally honest. I did have to look up the pin out for the 7805 before I could start, but once I had that I just hooked up the barrel jack and then followed along with the circuit diagram. I did have to do the math to calculate the resistors’ values, which was a bit of a speed bump, but I eventually figured it out. In lab I had made a small pressure-sensor-type switch out of foam and copper tape (photo below). When I got home and started working on the enclosure, I decided to change the switch out for the hinge of the enclosure itself. I used a little square of copper tape on each half, then just ran the wires back to the breadboard. You close the box, it lights up, bob’s your uncle.
